Johnson Chou Inc.
Johnson Chou Inc. is an interdisciplinary design firm specializing in architectural and industrial design, furniture and interior design, graphic identity, and corporate communications, with a body of work that is characterized by conceptual explorations of narrative, transformation, and multiplicity. The design firm was established in 1999 and incorporated in 2001. In 2003, Chou was chosen to talk about his work at a symposium called “The Next Generations,” which was sponsored by Metropolis Magazine in New York City. Chou has talked and taught about his work on a national and international scale.

Features

The firm’s award-winning and globally known projects include advertising offices for Grip Limited and Zulu Alpha Kilo, Red Bull Canada headquarters, and private residences in the 10 Bellair and Candy Factory condominiums. Chou’s involvement and support for the visual arts remain ongoing. He was on the Advisory Board of the Museum of Canadian Contemporary Art (MoCCA) and was the founding curator of Red Bull Gallery’s 381 Projects. In honour of his achievements, he was chosen vice president of the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts (RCA) in 2011.
